Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
1. Describe musical form and structure by talking about compositional components and their interactions.
2. Identify specific information about a musical work via a score and/or audio recording (e.g. key stylistic and structural features).
3. Assessment Information
One mid-semester Class Exam (40%) (Learning Outcomes 2,3).
Analysis portfolio (3 x 500-700 word musical analyses), due during the December exam diet (60%) (Learning Outcomes 1, 2, 3, 4).
