Course descriptionThe course will examine the potential benefits of Complementary approaches to both physical and psychological well being. Complementary therapies employed by all members of the multi-disciplinary team will be explored. Approaches taken will seek to reflect the growing use of these therapies in nursing.
Entry Requirements (not applicable to Visiting Students)
Pre-requisites Students MUST have passed: Nursing 1 (NUST08001) AND Nursing 2 (NUST08006) AND Health and Society 1A (NUST08002) AND Health and Society 2A (NUST08004) AND Health and Society 2B (NUST08005)

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
Students will:
- Understand the role of all health care members of the multidisciplinary team in relation to the use of Complementary therapies.
- Explore pertinent clinical issues in both mental health and adult branch nursing in relation to the use of Complementary therapies.
- Have a critical appreciation of evidence-based practice of Complementary therapies
Assessment Information
This course is assessed by means of a poster presentation (30%) and a course paper (70%) of 4500-5000 words.
