Course descriptionThe course is the core subject-specific element in the MSc (R) programme and raises key questions and concerns in nursing research. The focus will be on specific topics and problems in nursing and health care research, these will be related to a more general consideration of how theory, methodological issues and research practice relate

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
Demonstrate critical awareness of current key issues in the production of new knowledge in nursing research.
Demonstrate critical understanding and application of complex methodological and practical issues in nursing research.
Demonstrate originality and creativity in the application of research methods in nursing.
Critically analyse the nature of evidence in nursing research and its relation to the practice of nursing.
Critically analyse and conceptualise ethical issues in nursing resaerch.
Assessment Information
One seminar paper. In addition to a class presentation, students are required to write a 4,000 to 4,500 word essay which will be an extended version of the presentation.
