Course descriptionDiscusses and uses quantitative data to analyse the main directions of post-war policy development and change in OECD countries. Topics covered includes public expenditure patterns, welfare state development, labour market trends and topics in the realm of the personal, including home ownership, fertility and divorce.

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
The course seeks to develop:

* A knowledge of the main directions of post-war policy development in the nations of the OECD area;
* A capacity to identify major patterns of similarity and diversity in post-war public policy and to understand their causes;
* An ability to utilize the methods of quantitative data analysis to account for differences in cross-national policy outcomes.
