Course descriptionTo provide an advanced understanding of psychometrics and its research applications. This will include the following topics:

- Measurement of personality and intelligence
- Test construction: test design, use of factor analysis and item response theory in test development
- Observational approaches to personality assessment
- Reliability and validity
- Problems in testing: fundamental measurement issues, response sets, test bias
- Review of critical approaches to the research literature using selected topics in personality, intelligence and attitude research as illustrations

Feedback: Students opn this course can submit an outline essay plan and key references for comments
