Course descriptionThe course will provide an introduction to evolutionary psychology, with a special focus on how it relates to the study of personality and individual differences. The theory of evolution, the fundamentals of modern evolutionary psychology, the different approach taken by behavioural ecology, and how both can the synthesised in life history theory will be discussed. Further lectures will cover the current state of evolutionary psychological studies on human social behaviour, including mating, parenting, kinship, cooperation, and altruism.
