Students who, at the end of either first or second year, have satisfied the requirements set out above and who wish to transfer to a degree in the College of Humanities and Social Science may count satisfactory completion of one year of practical work at Edinburgh College of Art in lieu of 60 credits and two years in lieu of 120 credits.

  • Notes: Entry into the 3rd year normally requires passes in all subjects taken in the first two years. A pass (40%) in History of Art 2 and Classical Art 2A must be achieved at the first attempt along with satisfactory progress in practical work.

    Following the compulsory elements for Fine Art 3, you will see that there are 3 sections containing History of Art Honours courses. The first section lists the pre-1500 courses, the second lists the 1500-1850 courses and the third section lists all of the courses offered regardless of period. Fine Art 3 students must choose ONE COURSE FROM THE PRE-1500 LIST or ONE COURSE FROM THE 1500-1850 LIST and their remaining course may be from any of the History of Art courses offered, all of which are listed in the third section below.
