Course descriptionThis studio-based course involves research and experimentation in contemporary architectural design techniques and their application in specific urban settings. It takes the form of a series of inter-linked design projects that draw on a diverse range of design strategies currently being deployed in contemporary architectural practice globally. Through this process students begin to develop group and individual design experiments that have the capacity to contribute to and extend the current body of design knowledge.

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
- Undertake architectural design work of an advanced standard on the basis of a critical appreciation of architecture's relation to the larger field of cultural production;
- Think creatively about architectural design and its implications for contemporary urban contexts;
- Articulate appropriate theoretical dimensions of architecture and creatively mobilise them within a digitally informed design practice;
- Evaluate a range of design techniques and apply selected techniques appropriately within a given professional context;
- Show leadership within an architectural design team by applying skills in research, design, discussion, writing, and presentation.
