Course descriptionThis is a studio based course that seeks to address key issues of urban and sustainable development. The course will focus around a design project situated in a UK city allowing the testing of ideas in challenging contexts.

It will involve group working and embraces multi and trans-disciplinary modes of working.

Entry Requirements (not applicable to Visiting Students)
Pre-requisites It is RECOMMENDED that students have passed Sustainable Theory and Contexts (distance learning) (ARCH11037) AND Sustainable Theory and Contexts (ARCH11038) AND Sustainable Design Methodologies (ARCH11039) AND Sustainable Design Methodologies (distance learning) (ARCH11040)

The ability to interrogate site, programme and context in relation to the production of sustainable construction, engineering and architectural strategies.

A capacity for adaptability to communicate and collaborate with other disciplines in the production of coherent environmental strategies.

Acquisition of expertise in the intelligent use of quantitative data in making qualitative design decisions.

A facility to make imaginative and intelligent building proposals that respond proactively to sustainable agendas.
