Course descriptionArchitectural Design Studio C is a 40-credit, non-core module that runs in Semester 1. A varying number of design units, running in parallel with one another, may be offered in this module. Students will elect to take one of the units. Some of the units may have prerequisites, although each will meet the same learning outcomes. The units offered, which may involve group work, will be described through an initial presentation to students, and subsequently through briefing materials made available to them. The emphasis in this module, which gives students the opportunity to develop a major design project, is upon exploratory and creative work. It seeks to encourage projects that are investigative, poetic, theoretically informed, and that deal in a critical way with issues and questions of contemporary relevance. It looks for a sustained and rigorous process of study in all aspects of the student's work.
