| Course description | This placement comprises the following three courses:
Designing Urban Landscapes and Waterscapes (10 SCQF)
Master Studio II (30 SCQF)
Preservation of Ancient Gardens (10 SCQF)
Teaching is centred around intensively supervised design studios and carried out in small groups. This helps students to reflect on their creative activity as well as developments in contemporary society. Taking current developments in culture and the socio-economic planning framework into consideration, the focus lies on the scientific and artistic development of solutions in design. The shaping of the landscape through infrastructure, i.e. waterways and traffic systems, are core design and research areas.

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
| At the end of the placement, students¿ knowledge of basing design on scientific principals will be strengthened. They will develop in-depth knowledge of current theoretical and practical approaches in designing urban landscapes and waterscapes. They will acquire knowledge on the theoretical and practical principals regarding the preservation of ancient gardens. |

Students will be assessed at Hannover on the three core courses, with the following weightings:
Ancient gardens 20%
Urban landscape design 20%
Master studio 60%

| This is an umbrella course to cover the 50 credits undertaken by European Masters in Landscape Architecture (EMiLA), who choose LUH for their first placement. Please note that students will be taught in German. |
