Course description | The placement includes a Master Studio (28% of teaching), plus practical experience at a landscape architect practice (26% of teaching). The remaining 46% of teaching is spent on workshops and seminars. The Master Studio deals with large scale landscape design. Design research leads to the visualisation of possible developments at an early stage. The practice placement enables the student to come into contact with every stage of the planning or building process from design to completion in the course of the study period and to gain insight into the links between those different parts of the trajectory. |

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
The internal and external curricula are two relatively independent but complementary parts of the placements at AHK. The internal curriculum is particularly aimed at the acquisition of knowledge of the discipline and of skill in designing. The external curriculum promotes training as a professional Landscape Architect. |
Assessment Information
Students will be assessed on the core courses and professional practice in a working office during their placement. |
Special Arrangements
This is an umbrella course to cover the 50 credits undertaken by European Masters in Landscape Architecture (EMiLA), who choose AHK for their first placement. |

Academic description |
The Amsterdam Academy of Architecture prepares students to practice spatial design as a discipline at the interface between fine art, building technology, civil engineering and landscape architecture on a Master Level. The combination of study and practical experience has been a traditional feature of the Academy of Architecture since its foundation in 1908. Study and work complement one another to form a full-time training course. |
