Course descriptionThis module is undertaken by students who are on Placement. It gives an opportunity to study a contemporary building either through documents available in practice, or by study in the architectural press/and a building visit. The module is offered via WebCT/student portal distance learning.

Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
1. Critically appraise and demonstrate understanding of the integration of Structure, Construction, Services, Lighting, and Acoustics, Building Regulations, Health and Safety, Budget, and Inclusive Design within a realised work of contemporary architecture.
2. Demonstrate research skills in the context of architectural practice;

3. Demonstrate the ability to use visual and written communication methods and appropriate media to clearly and effectively communicate a critical review of precedent design ideas and proposals.
