Course descriptionIndicative course content
Students may work within a range of drawing and digital imaging classes to explore how these disciplines can be applied to and used to inform and research the cross-disciplinary nature of Combined Studies. A broad approach to drawing is encouraged including personal research and sketchbook drawing.

Aims of course
1 To foster understanding of the interrelationship between the finished work and the critical thinking and research undertaken as part of its development.
2 To develop visual awareness, a personal expressive language and technical skills using a variety of drawing media.
3 To develop familiarity with appropriate means of presentation and display of work made using media covered in this module.

Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
1. Display evidence of originality and the beginnings of a personal language through finished work in a range of drawing materials and digital media and the research which supports it.
2. Show evidence of a basic understanding of how drawing underpins the programme as a mandatory and essential skill, transferable between disciplines.
3. Show an understanding of the requirements of professional practice and appropriate presentation and selection skills at this level
