Course descriptionIndicative course content
Students will explore a personal and individual response to three dimensional form using a range of sources and approaches including modelling, carving, installation and assemblage. Students will investigate three dimensional form, considering the creation of objects and their placing within a space or context.

Aims of course
1 To encourage the use of a research notebook, sketch books and maquettes to develop individual responses.
2 To encourage students to explore the boundaries of form and the inter-relationships of forms within the studio or other designated space.
3 To develop familiarity with appropriate means of presentation and display of work made using media covered in this module

Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
1. Display evidence of originality and the beginnings of a personal language in finished work and the research which supports it.
2. Demonstrate basic skills in the handling of a range of mixed media materials to explore individual responses to geometry, volume and surface.
3. Show an understanding of the requirements of professional practice and appropriate presentation and selection skills at this level
