Course descriptionThe course is designed for graduates with little or no prior knowledge of Modern Standard Chinese (Mandarin). Students will be introduced to spoken and written Chinese.

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
Students will encounter 700-800 vocabulary items and approximately 500 characters. They will be able to conduct basic conversations and to read and write short texts in simplified Chinese characters.
