| Course description | The Experimental Paper: students are expected to review current literature, consider animal welfare issues, form hypotheses, carry out experimental design (where possible), data collection, statistical analysis and interpretation. This will be presented in the format of a scientific paper.
The project maybe carried out within the University of Edinburgh or SAC. However, students can also carry out their project elsewhere in the UK or may go abroad. We require that the project is carried out within an active research group, appropriate resources are available and that the supervisor has been approved by the University of Edinburgh, but the location can be outside of the University of Edinburgh. |

| Experimental Paper (60 credits). A portion of this mark (5-10%) will be given as a process mark. This process mark reflects the effort the student has put in to the project in terms of intellectual and physical contribution. This will be awarded by the main supervisor. |
