Course descriptionFor students unable to progress with the MSc and in order to exit from the programme with a Diploma award (120 credits) a literature review will be required to be undertaken (40 credits). For this assignment, the student will be required to review the literature on a subject clearly defined by the programme director and the course supervisor in the research area chosen.

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
Reviewing scientific literature is an exercise in which the student reports the current understanding of an area based on previously published data. This exercise requires careful, critical, and comprehensive analysis of the literature, so that the student can compile a synthesis of the published information
Assessment Information
The review should be no longer than 5000 words (not including references), be appropriately referenced, and in the format of a review for Nature Reviews Molecular Cell Biology.
