Course description | This course provides a theoretical perspective on political communication, policy making analysis and citizen participation. Participatory and deliberative policy making and communication; both dialogic and deliberative are examine in real world contexts. |

Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
1. An understanding of policy and policy-making as practice
2. An understanding of the interface between knowledge and policy in the context of science and technology
3. An ability to draw on existing resources and networks for knowledge brokerage and policy work.
4. The development of practical skills to operate as a policy-oriented knowledge broker, including the design of knowledge exchange strategies and the writing of policy briefs.
5. Capacity for reflective practice based on the development of analytical skills and know-how that will prepare you for continuous learning as a practitioner. |
Assessment Information
1.An essay, which draws on relevant literature and demonstrates an understanding of the political process with respect to policy-making.
2.Preparation of a policy brief from a range of stakeholders on a specific topic. |
