Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
- Ability to read simple passages in the Greek New Testament and translate them into English.
- Ability to identify forms of verbs and nouns frequently used in the Greek New Testament so that you can look up the word's meaning in a NT Greek lexicon (dictionary).
- Acquisition of a vocabulary of the most frequently used words in the Greek New Testament (about 300 words used 50+ times are tackled, which represent about 80% of all word-occurrences in the NT).
- A basic understanding of the significance of selected features of Koine Greek grammar for exegesis of the New Testament.
Assessment Information
Fortnightly in-class vocabularly quizzes (20%), a class exam (20%), degree exam (60%).
In order to pass this course, students must obtain a minimum of 40% combined mark for the regular quizzes and class exam as well as a minimum of 40% in the degree exam.
