Course descriptionThe Module will involve students in investigation of the Modern Scottish Gaelic dialects, their distribution, inter-relationships and emergence, together with the inter-relationship between dialects and language register.

The course aims to provide students with a thorough grounding in Gaidhlig dialectology through a consideration of what distinguishes dialects from one another, and how and why they arise.
