Course descriptionThe course is designed to explore the specificities of important period in literary, cultural, and social history from a transnational (mainly European) point of view. It is intended to enable students to develop their capacity to analyse texts generally as well as from a more specifically comparatist perspective.

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
Students will consolidate their knowledge of an important period in literary history which they will be able to contextualise in relation to previous and subsequent periods as well as developments in other areas, be they social or cultural. They will be able to engage critically with concepts pertaining to time, space, subjectivity, and narrative innovation.
