| Course description | Indicative course content 
This module enables students to build upon their previous design research and develop a personal integrated, critical and reflective design research approach appropriate to their chosen design discipline. Students work on self-selected and generated design projects. 
 
Aims of course 
1 To develop and consolidate advanced personal research and critical analysis to enhance the ability to produce an innovative body of work.  
2 To develop an appropriate method of documenting, archiving and presenting your research to identified audiences. 
3 To increase understanding of the synthesis between research development and an appropriate realisation of creative work

On completion of this course, the student will be able to:  
1. master the creative research processes of design and be able to generate, evaluate and consolidate original research led concepts through advanced critical assessment and considered judgement and reflection  
2. master appropriate material development through a transparent critical and reflective iterative research process that leads to a resolved and consolidated advanced outcome
