Course descriptionThis subject develops a framework for understanding the relationship between management and organisational theories and the management of sporting and recreation organisations. It examines organisational structures, decision processes and leadership in private, public and third-sector organisations responsible for the delivery of recreation services, and focuses on the impact of organisational processes on the individual.

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
By the end of the module students will be able to:
1. demonstrate an understanding of the theories of management and leadership.
2. discuss and analyse the influence of individual characteristics in the workplace.
3. identify and evaluate various organisational strategies, process, and designs.
4. demonstrate the importance of management theories to sport and recreation organisations
Assessment Information
The assessments for this module will consist of an individual presentation (worth 30%) where the student reflects on selected written material on organisational behaviour and sport, followed by an individual essay (worth 70%) where the student reflects on their experiences of key organisational behaviour concepts.
