Course description | With a chronological focus on the Middle Primary Years, the Professional Studies strands of this course introduce socialisation theory by exploring the emergence of social identity in childhood. Social Justice issues are highlighted in the consideration given to gender, race, disability and potential associated stereotyping concerns. Students¿ understanding of social inclusion and additional support for learning policies and practices are therefore fostered in order to enable them to address individual learning needs and teacher planning for differentiation in the middle school placement. They are also strengthened through strong connections with pedagogical studies about group work in the related Middle Years placement course. |
