Course descriptionThis course consists of weekly classes in translation from German into English in semester one and report writing in German in semester two.

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
This course systematically develops the ability to recognise the register, meaning, and cultural import of a German text, and to render that text appropriately in English. The report is written in German and is a summary of a text on a journalistic or cultural topic.

Assessment Information
20% coursework / 80% degree exam. A practice examination takes place at the end of each semester.
