1. An understanding the importance of the link between design and manufacture.
2. An appreciation of the impact of defects on quality, timescale and cost of production.
3. Understanding the strategies for minimising defects.
4. The ability to construct process control charts and understand their statistical basis.
5. Understand the purpose, nature and advantages of factorial designed experiments.
6. Appreciate the concept of the Taguchi quality loss function and its application to quality improvement. |
