Course descriptionThis course considers the relationship between postmodernism and feminism. Postmodernism has often been seen as apolitical and nihilistic, whereas feminism is a political movement based on agency and empowerment. As such, this course asks if there can be a postmodern feminism.

An engagement with, and understanding of, the complex relationship between postmodernism and feminism. An understanding of the key theoretical arguments, and an ability to engage with these arguments in an analysis of literary texts.
