Course descriptionThis course provides a further development of linguistic skills in the modern language. Grammatical structures and Persian idioms are studied at a higher level and oral skills are developed. Selected texts in Modern Persian are studied and are supplemented by an introduction to the modern literature and culture of Iran.

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
The student will develop linguistic skills in the modern language, studying grammatical structures and idioms at a higher level and further developing oral skills. The student is expected to become acquainted with some elements of modern literature and culture through the use of selected texts.
Assessment Information
Regular written exercises and occasional class tests will be set and marked (15% of final mark); 1 three-hour examination plus oral examination (85% of final mark)
