Course descriptionCore course for the Honours Degree in Mathematics and Statistics. Syllabus summary : Maple, LaTeX, statistical computation (semester 2), writing and presenting mathematics. Project work.

If a student would prefer to study Maple or Matlab in semester 2, the Year Organiser of Statistics courses may grant permission for him/her to transfer to the MATH10006 Mathematical Computation & Communication Skills course.
Entry Requirements (not applicable to Visiting Students)
Pre-requisites Students MUST have passed: ( Foundations of Calculus (MATH08005) AND Several Variable Calculus (MATH08006) AND Linear Algebra (MATH08007) AND Methods of Applied Mathematics (MATH08035) AND Statistics (Year 2) (MATH08051)) OR ( Mathematics for Informatics 3a (MATH08042) AND Mathematics for Informatics 3b (MATH08043) AND Mathematics for Informatics 4a (MATH08044) AND Mathematics for Informatics 4b (MATH08045))
Co-requisites Students MUST also take: Linear Statistical Modelling (MATH10005)
Prohibited Combinations Students MUST NOT also be taking Mathematical Computation & Communication Skills (MATH10006) OR Mathematical Computation & Communication Skills (Combined Degrees) (MATH10054)
