Course description*Only Postgraduate Taught students on Mathematics Degree Programmes and Undergraduate MMath Year 5 students may take this course, and selection requires the approval of the Programme Director.*

This course covers several fundamental topics in applied analysis and partial differential equations (PDEs), providing a solid and broad foundation across the spectrum of the subject.
The course starts by describing dynamical systems and bifurcation theory, and then continues with the study of systems of hyperbolic, elliptic and parabolic PDEs. The latter covers uniqueness and existence theorems of solutions for these PDEs.

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
Thorough understanding of the analytical concepts and methods developed in the uniqueness and existence theorems for solutions of PDEs.

Familiarity with the tools developed in systems of differential equations appearing in dynamical systems and their behaviour as one changes the parameters appearing in them.
