Course descriptionFour weeks of instruction with full-time attachment to a geriatric unit. Electives for students wishing to pursue a deeper interest in care of the elderly can be provided.

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
To familiarise students with the clinical management of the frailest and most disabled elderly patients, with complex and/or multiple disability.
Assessment Information
Elements of assessment are: Portfolio case report, knowledge test and tutor PPD/skills assessment. Work on the clinical attachment will be subject to an evaluation, including a component based on the SCEE methodology, which will be carried out by a senior clinical. Material relevant to care of elderly patients will also be examined in the end-of-year żAssessment for Practiceż examination.
