Course descriptionThis course will provide an opportunity for MMus students to undertake a limited amount of research, under supervision, into a topic of their choice, related to their programme of study and, normally, to the research interests of a member of staff. This might or might not eventually form the basis of part of the MMus dissertation. If not, it will provide the student with the opportunity to undertake rsearch in a different, but probably related, area.

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
The student will have undertaken a well-defined research project, putting into practice methodologies learned in other courses on the MMus programme. The student will have presented his/her findings in a 20-minute presentation and will have written these up in an extended essay with appropriate critical and illustrative apparatus.
Assessment Information
Twenty-minute presentation and an extended essay of c. 5,000 words.
