Course descriptionPromoting health is increasingly recognised as central role for nurses in the UK and globally. Health Promotion Philosoophy, Principles and Theory would be available to students who are full time or part time or CPD who are able to attend a health promotion winter school.

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
- Critically appraise health promotion philosophy, principles and theory
- Provide an ethical critique of the philosophy and theory of health promotion theory and practice
- Apply critical analysis, evaluation and synthesis to issues which are at the forefront or are informed by developments at the forefront of knowledge and practice
- Identify, conceptualise and define new and abstract problems and issues
- Critically review, consolidate and extend knowledge, skills and practices and thinking in health promotion
- Demonstrate a critical evaluation of recent research
- Deal with complex ethical and professional issues and make informed judgements on issues of equity within health promotion
