Course descriptionMotivation of array processing, wave propagation, signals in time and frequency, random fields, apertures and arrays, spatial sampling, adaptive beamforming, subspace methods, eigenanalysis, MUSIC, paramteric methods, maximum likelihood estimators, multiple input multiple output systems, MIMO channel models, fading, multipath propagation

Pre-requisites It is RECOMMENDED that students have passed Statistical Signal Processing (PGEE11027) AND Discrete-Time Signal Analysis (PGEE11026)

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
The students should be able to understand wave propagation models, the representation of signals in time and frequency, basics of antennas and mathematical methods related such as subspace and parametric methods.
They should by able to explain the benefits of array processing in signal processing and communications and understand practical applications in beamforming and multiple input multiple output (MIMO) communication systems.
Assessment Information
90% closed-book formal written examination; 10% class tests conducted during the teaching semester.
