¿ To provide knowledge in order to understand the factors influencing the structural response of fixed and floating offshore renewable energy devices to external loading
¿ To develop skills in order to predict ultimate strength of structural components of fixed and floating offshore renewable energy devices

basic concepts to derive the ultimate strength formulations,post-ultimate behaviour;
average stress-strain relationship;
post-buckling and ultimate strength behaviour of stiffened panels, ultimate strength of plate assemblies, global ultimate strength;
closed-form ultimate strength design formulations;
introduction to reliability based strength analysis;
partial safety factors;
reliability indices;
case studies to predict the structural loading and strength analysis of various fixed and floating offshore renewable energy devices.
