Course descriptionThe course will offer an introduction to Roman Comedy, with detailed study of at least two plays, and will conclude with a brief look at later classicising drama from the 12th century.

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course, students should:-
- be familiar with the way in which Roman comedy developed in its historical and dramatic context;
- have some awareness of the classical background to the development of later medieval drama;
- have read in Latin plays from both the classical and medieval period, with due attention to linguistic and stylistic detail and to literary and dramatic technique.
