Course descriptionThis course will provide an introduction to one of the most exciting debates in the interdisciplinary field between philosophy and the cognitive sciences. It will examine the relationship between our phenomenal sense of agency and the sub-personal behavioural control layers that scientific psychology and the neurosciences describe.

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
Students who have completed this course should be able to:
* Examine the basic empirical and theoretical literature for the main contemporary theories of sense of agency and behavioural control
* To make use of the empirical literature in a philosophial context
* Critically discuss the relationship between our phenomenal sense of agency and subpersonal behavioural control layers
* Distinguish between different levels of the sense of agency
