Through a combination of lectures and practical workshops, this course will provide students with the critical and technical skills to support the presentation of their work using digital media. Through the practical workshops students will work on a creative project involving preparing & importing files from a range of media into a layout using Adobe InDesign page layout software, and develop a short digital video using Adobe After Effects. Students will be encouraged to incorporate non-digital elements such as sketches & drawings and to keep a notebook or log / blog showing the development of their ideas. The main packages used in the course will be InDesign and After Effects at an introductory level.
Aim of Course
The course will emphasise the integration of digital media across image based media (Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign) to time-based media (After Effects), together with non-digitally generated work such as drawings & sketches, in ways that communicate design work clearly, appropriately & creatively.
