At the end of the course students will be able to
- write, present and converse knowledgably and critically on current social, cultural and theoretical issues
- compare and evaluate different theoretical positions
- critically evaluate texts and arguments
- embark on a self-directed programme of theoretical research
- demonstrate detailed familiarity with at least 6 key texts in the areas of media and culture
