Summary | Through a study of selected medieval Spanish texts this course will chart the evolution in public tastes as the epic genre gives way to romance, which itself develops three distinct forms: chivalric, sentimental and pastoral. The course will analyse the reasons behind this evolution, as well as the differences between different forms of epic and romance. |
