Learning Outcomes
After completing the dissertation the student will be able to:

1. Identify and justify a business issue that is of strategic relevance to the organisation.
2. Plan and conduct a substantial piece of research over a protracted period
3. Critically analyse and discuss existing literature, contemporary HR policy and practice relevant to the chosen issue.
4. Compare and contrast the relative merits of different research methods and their relevance to different situations.
5. For CIPD accredited dissertations, undertake a systematic analysis of quantitative and/or qualitative information and present the results in a clear and consistent format.
6. For CIPD accredited dissertations, draw realistic and appropriate conclusions and where appropriate make recommendations based on costed options.
7. For CIPD accredited dissertations, develop and present the implications for business (a persuasive ¿business report¿ in CIPD terms).
8. Structure and logically construct a report on a piece of research.
9. For CIPD accredited dissertations, include a reflective account of what has been learned during the project and how this can be applied in the future.
