Learning Outcomes
1. Examine the child and adolescent who has sustained dento-alveolar trauma.
2. Classify injuries of the teeth and supporting structures.
3. Describe the clinical and radiographic presentation of dento-alveolar trauma.
4. Describe the immediate management of dentoalveolar trauma
5. Explain the long term sequelae of dento-alveolar trauma.
6. Plan for long term management of dento-alveolar trauma and its sequelae
7. Recognise the need for multidisciplinary input in complex cases.
8. Understand the difference in management of dento-alveolar trauma in the primary and permanent dentition.
9. Discuss methods for the prevention of traumatic dental injuries
10. Recognise the possibility of non-accidental injury
11. Describe the clinical presentation and significance of non-dental facial injuries and know when to transfer care for the management of these injuries
