| Summary | Economics of Sport will visit the most important economic aspects of the industry. In addition to the textbooks, we will look at leading academic papers in the area to assess the empirical evidence and the theory that has been developed in the light of this evidence. The course will in principle be team taught, with the empirical and theoretical aspects being taught by specialists. In the first instance, the team will comprise Colin Roberts and József Sákovics. |

| Pre-requisites | Visiting students should usually have at least 3 Economics courses at grade B or above (or be predicted to obtain this) for entry to this course. This MUST INCLUDE courses in Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, and Introductory Econometrics. We will only consider University/College level courses. |

Learning Outcomes
By building on and applying the core economic analysis covered in required courses in years 1 through 3 of the programme, the course enhances understanding of the core areas of economic analysis, both theoretical and empirical.
General skills developed include: critical analysis and assessment; reasoning adaptably and systematically; problem-framing and problem-solving skills; obtaining and processing information from a variety sources; quantitative and numerical skills; written presentation skills; interpersonal and group skills; independent action and initiative; managing tasks and time.
