Summary | This Honours level course builds on previous work covered in Curriculum and Pedagogy courses from years 1 and 2 of the programme. It aims to promote deeper understanding of both the content and knowledge associated with Sciences and Health and Well-Being and the relationship between these curricular areas and national initiatives. In Science there is a strong emphasis on developing a critical understanding of how scientific concepts can be developed through a range of pedagogical approaches. The Health and Wellbeing strand is divided into two components. The first component emphasises the teacher's responsibility to promote positive mental health, the second focuses on developing skills for teaching physical activities. |
