Summary | An intensive course of tuition in spoken and written Spanish for students with no or little previous knowledge of the language. A general introduction to the history and culture of the Hispanic world, together with the study of two appropriate texts and/or films. The course is open to students of any year, but not to students qualified for admission to Spanish 1B. A good deal of private study is necessary to meet the requirements of the course. |

Learning Outcomes
To provide a firm grounding in Spanish language, both written and oral, with a view to preparing potential Honours students for living and either studying or working in a Spanish-speaking country during their third year. To provide an understanding of some important literary and cultural issues relating to the countries where Spanish is spoken.
