SummaryThis course is designed to raise the participants' English language and study skills to the point where they are able to participate fully in courses of their choice offered in undergraduate programmes of study. There are five principal strands: Listening and note-taking; Reading and text analysis; Discussion skills; Academic writing and Presentation skills.

Timetable: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 09.00-10.50.

Information for Visiting Students
Pre-requisitesAcademic English for International Students (AEIS) 1 & 2
AEIS is a 20-credit academic course taught by ELTC staff and designed to improve students' academic English. AEIS has very strict English language requirements, so all students who are interested in AEIS must take the Test of English at Matriculation (TEAM). All enrolments for AEIS are organised by the Visiting Student Office (VSO) in the College of Humanities & Social Science. It is essential that you visit the VSO (3rd Floor, David Hume Tower) if you are interested in taking this course.
