Prohibited Combinations Other requirements Students who have prior knowledge of the language should go into the advanced beginners' courses (1C and 1D). The Course Organiser will be responsible for assessing the students' language competence at the start of the course to ensure they are in the right course. Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of the course, students should be able to demonstrate in course work and in the written degree examination:

- that they have a good understanding of the essentials of Greek morphology and syntax;

- that they have acquired basic skills in translating and understanding Greek literary texts.

In addition, they will have improved their linguistic abilities in general, and their analytical skills.
