SummaryRelevant anatomy, reproductive physiology and pathology will be taught and applied to the clinical setting. Anatomical and reproductive pathology issues are particularly highlighted in the core week's teaching. Relevant clinical skills will be addressed throughout the attachment. There will be an opportunity for specialist attachments for clinical experience and teaching in Genito Urinary Medicine, with adequate time for self-directed learning and work on the Obstetrics and Gynaecology portfolio case. It is emphasised that the clinical content is equally taught irrespective of site of attachment.

Learning Outcomes
Intended learning objectives are:
1.to acquire a basic understanding of the knowledge, skills and attitudes associated with reproductive medicine as detailed in this guide.
2.to acquire the clinical skills necessary to practice medicine safely and competently.
3.to develop attitudes to patients, colleagues and staff that are mature and appropriate for a clinical practitioner.
4.to gain a broad experience of clinical obstetrics and gynaecology practice, witnessing both normal and abnormal processes and common investigative and therapeutic practices and gaining an appreciation of how disease and modern therapies impact upon patients and families.
5.to assimilate knowledge, clinical skills, attitudes and experience, reflecting and reviewing the practice of staff, both nursing and medical, thus allowing the development of an appropriate but personal clinical style.
6.to experience active research in our specialty, thereby appreciating the importance to our profession and our patients of on-going learning and development at both personal and professional levels.

Additional Class Delivery Information A week of core integrated teaching. Clinical experience will be acquired during a 6 week attachment. Clinical experience will be complemented with core tutorials and opportunities for self-directed learning.
