SummaryThis course considers the key approaches to research in nursing and examines relevant methods of data collection and analysis and builds on the content in years 1 and 2. The course aims to familiarise students with a wide range of approaches and equip them with some basic research skills.

Reflexivity is considered in relation to understanding the impact of self, not only on research impartiality, but also on communication skills and interaction with others.

Rights and ethics of research subjects and the general public are considered in depth.

An introduction to data collection methods is seen as key, not only to research and its conduct, but also to many principles and skills of audit, data collection and analysis.
